A 16-year-old boy has now come forward with the claim that it is he, not 13-year-old Alfie Patten, who is the real father of 15-year-old Chantelle Steadman’s newborn daughter.
Richard Goodsell, a trainee chef, says he wants a DNA test to prove the paternity of the baby. He insists he often shared a bed with Chantelle over a period of three months around the time she fell pregnant.
Chantelle and Alfie made headlines this week when they vowed to be good parents to their daughter Maisie.
And the matter does not end with Richard’s claim to be the actual father, for reports even suggest that a third, 14-year-old Tyler Barker also fears that he might have fathered the little girl.
According to the Sun newspaper, Chantelle was sleeping with as many as eight boys around the time the baby was conceived in Eastbourne.
Chantelle claimed she was on the Pill but forgot to take it after a single night of unprotected sex with Alfie, when he was just 12.
