Montenegrin authorities say that some 300 people have been evacuated from their homes in the northern part of the country because of flooding due to heavy rain. Authorities in the town of Berane say that the evacuees have been housed in a community center.
They say dozens of homes and roads have been flooded because of heavy rains during the past several days, and added that more evacuations are likely to follow. No injuries have been reported so far.
Heavy rain and snow are usual for tiny Montenegro this time of year, and sometimes cause rivers to overflow and flood the surrounding areas.
