Chatrak or mushroom is perhaps the first Bengali movie — the sole Indian entry at Cannes this year — made by a Sinhalese director from Sri Lanka to be featured in the prestigious festival.

It centres around the conflict between the material world and the world of nature; the protagonist, a successful Dubai-based architect, returns to Kolkata only to find roots sadly crumbled.
