Richard Jones and his family were trekking in the Ocala National Forest on Sunday when they spotted something rather unusual.
Jones' son was walking through some trees when he apparently startled a resident raccoon, who then promptly high-tailed it out of there. How, you may ask?
The said raccoon hitched a ride on the back of a passing alligator. Yes, your eyes do not deceive you. Take a closer look.
"I snapped a lucky picture right when the gator slipped into the water and before the raccoon jumped off and scurried away. Without the context you'd think the raccoon was hitching a ride across the river. Pretty amazing," Jones said to the aptly named local TV station WFTW. "Definitely the photo of a lifetime."
Just when it seemed like the world was out to break my heart today, the universe sent me a raccoon riding a gator pic.twitter.com/jxVzAx0uWg— Ron Pope (@RonPopeMusic) June 15, 2015
