Air France said Friday it was renumbering its daily overnight flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris as AF 445, following the tragedy associated with the previous number, AF 447.
The new designation will come into effect from Sunday, a week after the ill-fated flight AF 447 took off from Rio on its flight across the Atlantic.
That flight, made with an Airbus A330, came down in the early hours of Monday. All 228 people on board are believed to have died. A search is continuing to find and recover debris.
The number for the daily Paris to Rio flight will remain unchanged as AF 444, Air France said.
