At least 25 people were killed when a bus crashed into a truck in Russia's central Vladimir region, the RIA Novosti news agency reported today quoting emergency ministry officials.

"The bus and the KAMAZ truck collided some 124 kilometers away from Moscow on the road to Vladimir, and the bus caught fire. At least 25 people were inside," officials said, adding that four people were rescued and hospitalised in serious condition.

It was not immediately clear what caused the accident.

No exact figures on how many people were in the bus were immediately available, but "it is known that the bus was full of people and was on its way from Ulyanovsk," a town in southern Russia, an official said.
