At least 3 dead in Russia gas blast

A residential gas line exploded in an apartment building in the eastern Siberian city of Irkutsk on Sunday, touching off a fire that killed three people and injured six, the RIA-Novosti news agency reported.

A residential gas line exploded in an apartment building in the eastern Siberian city of Irkutsk on Sunday, touching off a fire that killed three people and injured six, the RIA-Novosti news agency reported.

"The fire killed three people. Six people including a child suffered burns," an official from the local office of the emergency situations ministry was quoted as saying.

The explosion and fire caused part of the two-storey building to collapse.
