The Bangladesh government on Friday formed a six-member committee headed by Home Minister Sahara Khatun to investigate the mutiny by the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) in which at least 67 people, including its chief Maj Gen Shakil Ahmed, were killed.

Khatun told the reporters in Dhaka that the committee will submit its report in seven days.

The panel includes State Law Minister Qumrul Islam, she said adding, the other members are-Additional Home Secretary, Brigadier General of Army, Additional Inspector General of Police (Special Branch) and Director General of the PMO.

The death toll in the two-day revolt by the border guards, which erupted over pay rise on Wednesday, is likely to go up as more than 130 army officers remain missing.
