world Updated: May 07, 2009 00:02 IST

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the youthful chairman of Pakistan's ruling party, on Wednesday had his baptism in international diplomacy.

The 21-year-old son of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and assassinated former premier Benazir Bhutto, was part of the high-level delegation accompanying his father for a crucial trilateral US-Pak-Afghan summit here.

Bilawal, who studies history in at Christ Church college of the University of Oxford, was anointed as the chairman of ruling Pakistan People's Party after the killing of his mother and then PPP chief Benazir on December 27, 2007.

However, the party had made it clear that he will join active politics only after he completes his studies.
