The health ministry says that bird flu has killed a 3-year-old boy, raising Indonesia's death toll from the disease to 108.

Ministry spokeswoman Lily Sulistyowati says that the toddler from Central Java province first showed flu-like symptoms on April 17. He was admitted to a local hospital and died five days later.

Sulistyowati on Wednesday said that two laboratory tests came back positive for the deadly H5N1 virus and that health investigators found the child "had a history of contact with dead poultry.
