Afghan authorities say two separate roadside bomb blasts have killed five people including four policemen in the east of the country.

Gen Abdul Qayuem Baqizai, who is the provincial police chief in Wardak province, says four policemen were killed and another wounded today when their vehicle hit a bomb in Jelrez district.

In neighboring Ghazni province, deputy police chief Maj Mohammad Hussian says one Afghan civilian was killed and two others were wounded in a second explosion. They were traveling today from Khogyani district to Ghazni city when their vehicle hit the bomb placed along the route.
