A low-intensity bomb exploded today at the Internal Revenue Department office in Biratnagar, an eastern Nepal town.

No one was injured but the government building was slightly damaged in the incident which occurred at 2.30 pm (local time), police said.

No one has claimed responsibility for the blast. Meanwhile, security has been tightened in the area, they said.
The revenue department comes under Finance Minister Surendra Pandey who presented the country’s annual budget yesterday.
