The CBI on Saturday said that it would wait for the detailed judgement of the Argentine court, which rejected India's plea to extradite Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi, an accused in the Bofors scam.
"We will wait, study the judgement and then chalk out our future course of action," CBI Director Vijay Shanker said. His reaction came as an Argentine court in El Dorado on Saturday rejected India's extradition plea.
India's efforts for his extradition began four months ago when Quattrocchi was detained on February six in the Misiones province on the basis of an Interpol alert.
The court has, however, barred Quattrocchi for leaving Argentina till June 18 by when India can approach the Supreme Court in Buenos Aires to challenge the judgement.
