A hotel in Dubai recently served lunch to 600 taxi drivers of the city for all their hard work.
After dishing out free meals to those who lost their jobs in the economic downturn last year, this was the hotel's second such gesture.
Arturo Cairel, a hotel manager at the Arabian Park Hotel, said it fed around 600 cabbies early this week "as a big 'thank you' for all their hard work".
"We do this every year, try to help others. In the spirit of Ramadan, we wanted to do something nice, as a big thank you to the community," Cairel said.
"Taxi drivers help visitors who don't know their way about town by bringing them to the right place," he added.
On Monday, hotel staff arranged lunch in a parking area where several drivers lined up to get their share of biryani, water, chilled soft drinks, fresh fruit and dessert.
