A garbage truck ran into a procession of worshippers celebrating Easter in northern Brazil, killing eight people, including an eight-month-old baby.

Ten people were also injured in the accident on Saturday when the truck got out of control on a downward slope in Juareiro Do Norte, in the northern state of Ceara.

The truck then collided with a bus, whose passengers only suffered minor injuries. The truck driver received severe head injuries.
