Five Taliban fighters were killed and three others injured when US drones targeted a militant compound in the volatile North Waziristan tribal region in northwest Pakistan on Monday, official sources said.
The drones fired three missiles at a house in Danday Darpakhel area, three kilometres north of Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan Agency.
Local residents rushed to the site and retrieved the dead and injured from the collapsed building.
US spy planes have increased their operations against militants in Pakistan's tribal region during the past three days. Today's drone strike was the third attack in a row in as many days.
