A former Pakistan Air Force chief technician, convicted for his involvement in an assassination attempt on the country's former president Pervez Musharraf, has been executed, a media report said on Saturday.
Khalid Mehmood was executed in Rawalpindi's Central Jail on Friday night, Dawn online reported.
Mehmood was sentenced to death on October 3, 2005 for his involvement in an assassination attempt on Musharraf December 14, 2003 in Rawalpindi.
He was shifted to the jail on October 27, 2010.
The executions of those convicted of terrorism started as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lifted the moratorium on capital punishment in the aftermath of Peshawar school carnage that left around 150 people, mostly children, dead.
