Grenade thrown at store in Karachi, 5 injured

Five persons were injured when unidentified attackers lobbed a grenade at a store in the southern Pakistani port city of Karachi on Saturday, police said.

Five persons were injured when unidentified attackers lobbed a grenade at a store in the southern Pakistani port city of Karachi on Saturday, police said.

The attackers, who were riding a motorcycle, hurled the grenade at a hardware store in Liaquatabad area of Karachi.

The injured persons were taken to a nearby hospital.

The same store and other shops have been targeted by extortionists in the recent past, TV news channels reported.

The reason for Saturday's attack could not immediately be ascertained.
