The besieged LTTE has accused India of not taking steps to stop the "genocide" of Tamils in the embattled northern Sri Lanka.

Citing what it claimed was the "gist" of the opinion mails it had received, the pro-Tiger LTTE website 'Tamilnet' said "India and the so-called international community continue to demonstrate with adamancy and arrogance that they have no interest in stopping the genocide of Tamils in the island of Sri Lanka".

"But they would rather abet it in the name of war on terrorism", said the website.

The compilation, the Tamilnet website claimed, stated that "the people of Tamil Nadu and the world Tamil diaspora should demonstrate against such governments abetting Colombo and their representations all over the world."
