Indian parliamentarians to attend classes at Yale

A team of Indian parliamentarians led by Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi would be attending classes at America's prestigious Yale University from Saturday on current global issues and leadership challenge.

Apart from Singhvi, Prakash Javadekar, BJP spokesman, along with H D Kumarasamy, former Karnataka Chief Minister and son of the former Indian Prime Minister, H D Devegowda; and Naresh Gujral, son of the former Indian Prime Minister, Inder Kumar Gujral are another senior members of the delegation.

Most of the members of the delegation are the children of senior Indian politicians. Other members of the delegation are: Jayant Chaudhary, son of Rashtriya Lok Dal leader, Ajit Singh; Shruti Choudhary, daughter of Kiran Choudhary, the Haryana Tourism Minister; Priya Dutt, daughter of late Sunil Dutt; Mohammad Hamdullah Sayeed, son of the former Union Power Minister, P M Sayeed; and Anurag Singh, son of the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal.

Mausam Noor, the Congress MP from Malda, is a close relative of the former Congress leader from West Bengal, A B A Ghani Khan Choudhary; while Ijyaraj Singh, the Congress MP from Kota comes from a royal family in Rajasthan.

They will receive briefings on foreign policy issues from scholars and advisers of the Brookings Institution, the
Council on Foreign Relations, and the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research.
