US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton described India-US ties as an "indispensable partnership". And that's where President Barack Obama would take it on his November visit to India.

Obama is visiting India in November, on the invitation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who was the first head of state or government hosted by the President after his election to the White house.

Ties between India and the US have been since in the indifferent zone, falling, according to some analysts, from the heady days of President George W. Bush.
