'Iran still not complying with IAEA regulations'

world Updated: Nov 17, 2009 09:15 IST

Noting that the latest report of IAEA reflects that Iran still refuses to comply fully with its international nuclear obligations, the Obama Administration has said it is now time for Tehran to signal that it wants to be a responsible member of the international community.

"We will continue to press Iran in ways consistent with the dual-track approach to meet its international nuclear obligations," the State Department spokesman Ian Kelly said in statement on Monday.

The State Department statement came after a report of the IAEA said that Iran's disclosure of a previously secret nuclear facility near Qom raises questions about the existence of other such facilities.

A copy of the report was posted on the website of the Institute for Science and International Security and independently verified by several American media outlets.

"The most recent example of continued noncompliance is Iran's failure to disclose the Qom enrichment facility, consistent with Iran's IAEA safeguards obligations," Kelly said.
