An Iraqi security official says the parliament building was evacuated after a bomb-sniffing dog indicated the discovery of explosives, but no device was found. An Interior ministry official says the building was fully searched after the sniffer dog sat down, a signal that it detected explosives. But officials say no bomb was found.
Saturday's parliament session was canceled. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to media.
In April 2007, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive belt in the parliament cafeteria, killing one lawmaker.
