Libyan militia clash again

world Updated: Nov 15, 2011 00:23 IST

Highlight Story

Rival Libyan militias have clashed for a fourth day on the outskirts of the Libyan capital in the deadliest and most sustained violence since the killing of Muammar Gaddafi.

Fighters attacked each other on Sunday with rockets, mortars and machine guns, witnesses said. The fighting, which has killed at least 13 people since late last week, raised new concerns about the ability of Libya's transitional government to disarm thousands of gunmen and restore order after a civil war.
