Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has greeted his Malaysian counterpart Najib Tun Razak, who recently took office and expressed hope that bilateral ties between the two democracies will be consolidated.“Relations between India and Malaysia are based on sound foundations of historical, cultural and social links and reinforced by shared interests and concerns,” Singh said in his message to his Malaysian counterpart.

The two countries could consolidate their partnership in all areas, in view of the untapped potential and emerging new opportunities.“We are happy that this important relationship has diversified and acquired new depth and dynamism in recent years, bilaterally as also in regional and multilateral spheres,” Singh added.

The Indian Prime Minister said that New Delhi looked forward to working with Malaysia to consolidate partnership in all its dimensions, taking advantage of the untapped potential and emerging new opportunities.
