Mother makes two-year-old smoke weed
An Ohio mother, who has been accused of making or encouraging her two-year-old daughter to smoke marijuana and videotaping it, may face 11½ years in prison.
Picture this! A two-year-old watching television as she puts a joint to her mouth, takes a drag before waving away the smoke, takes a breather and then takes another puff of her marijuana cigarette. Bizarre? Not really! After all her 21-year-old mother encouraged her to do so.
Alarmingly, Jessica Gamble, mother of the two-year-old, video taped the act with her cell phone.
Gamble has been accused of making or encouraging her two-year-old daughter to smoke marijuana. She also tried to delete the video on her phone.
Gamble has been indicted on three cases of felony - corrupting another with drugs, child endangering and tampering with evidence - that carry a maximum prison sentence of 11½ years.
The prosecutor told Cincinnati Enquirer, "What's quite disconcerting is that she (baby) is handling this (marijuana joint) like she's done this before."
At 1 minute, 37 second in the video, a voice believed to be of the two-year-old's mother tells the girl to not "blow on" the joint, Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
Later a hand, again believed to be Gamble's, snatches the joint and places it in the middle of the screen and laughs.
"It is disturbing to think that a parent would provide their 2-year-old child with marijuana," the prosecutor said.
As of now, the child is living with a relative as the cops are investigating the incident.
