Khagendra Thapa Magar, who stands just 22 inches, is set to become the world's shortest man on his 18th birthday on Thursday.
A delegation from the Guinness World Records has arrived in Pokhara, the famous tourist spot of western Nepal, to award a certificate to him.
Khagendra will be awarded the certificate as the world's shortest man after a health check up on Thursday, according to chairman of Khagendra Thapa Magar Foundation, Min Bahadur Thapa Magar.
Khagendra, who weighs only 5.5 kilos, will snatch the title of the shortest man in the world from 24-year-old Edward "Nino" Hernandez from Columbia, who is two inches taller than him.
Earlier, Guiness World Records thought that India's Gul Mohammed, whose height is just 22.5 inch is the shortest man in the world, although this was not verified.
