The two-day Nuclear Security Summit will begin here with a moment of silence to honour the Polish President Lech Kaczynski who recently died in a plane crash in Russia.

"To mark the solidarity between the international community and the people of Poland at this tragic time, we will have a moment of silence at the beginning of the first plenary session on Tuesday," Ben Rhodes, Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications told reporters during a tele conference.

It would be "to honour those who were lost and to underscore the fact that the US and the world stand with the people of Poland right now at this time of such great tragedy," he said.

Leaders of 47 countries including India are attending the two-day conference beginning Tuesday.
