A survivor has been found at the site where a Yemeni passenger plane crashed into the Indian Ocean off the Comoros on Tuesday, a Yemenia airline official said.
"A survivor of the accident has been found," Yemenia's deputy managing director for operations Mohammed al-Sumairi told AFP, quoting information obtained by the airline's office in the Comoros capital Moroni.
"Three bodies have been recovered," he said, adding that the search was being made difficult by the poor weather conditions. "Rough seas and strong winds are hampering the search and rescue operations."
The Airbus crashed in stormy weather in the early hours of Tuesday as it was approaching Comoros en route from Yemen with 153 people on board including an 11-member crew, officials said.
