The US can provide all kind of support to Islamabad to help it fight against Taliban but only the Pakistanis can resolve their issues and save themselves from this current mess, an American Senator said on Monday.
"We can support them, we can provide intelligence, we can provide other kinds of support, particularly economic support, providing it's going to be effective," Senator Cark Levin told the Fox news in an interview.
"We can be helpful, but we can't dominate; we can't dictate. Only the Pakistanis, like only the Iraqis, can resolve their own political issues and save their own countries," he said.
Another Senator Kit Bond, Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said that Obama administration should convince India to move its troops from the Line of Control in Kashmir so that Pakistan can focus on fighting terrorism on its western border against the Taliban and Al Qaeda.
"We need to convince India to move its troops off of the Kashmir-Pakistan (PoK) border so that the Pakistani military, under General (Ashfaq Parvez) Kayani, can move them back to fight the terrorists," he said.
