A Pakistani court on Friday extended till September 17 the interim bail granted to Lollywood actress Meera, who was also seen in Bollywood flick 'Nazar', in connection with a theft case registered against her by a man claiming to be her husband.
Businessman Atiqur Rehman, who claims he married Meera two years ago, has accused the actress and her relatives of stealing furniture and other valuables from his house.
Meera had been granted interim bail by a court here after Rehman filed a case against her.
Rehman has produced a 'nikaahnama' (marriage certificate), witnesses, e-mails and recordings of phone conversations to substantiate his claim. The marriage certificate says he will pay Rs 20 million to Meera in the event of divorcing her.
Meera and her mother have denied that she was married to Rehman, whom the actress has described as a business partner.
The actress has reportedly been living in Rehman's residence in Lahore since their marriage. When she reportedly refused to live with Rehman any longer, he registered a case against her, her parents, a brother and a brother-in-law for stealing his furniture and other valuables.
