India's response to Pakistan's 30 questions seeking more information on the Mumbai attacks was today handed over by the government in Islamabad to the Federal Investigation Agency for "further examination and necessary legal action".

The Indian replies to the queries, which were given to Pakistan on March 13, were reviewed at a meeting chaired by Interior Ministry chief Rehman Malik.

The meeting was also attended by Interior Secretary Kamal Shah and FIA Director General Tariq Khosa.

The replies were then handed over to the Director General of the FIA for "further examination and necessary legal action," officials said.

The meeting also decided that any further response to the Indian authorities would be "conveyed through diplomatic channels in due course of time," the officials said.

The 400-page dossier, containing replies to Pakistan's questions, was handed over by Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon to Pakistan's High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik in New Delhi on March 13, a month after Islamabad posed the queries.
