Pak says 80 kidnapped students, staff recovered

The Pakistani military said today that 80 kidnapped students and staff members had been rescued in the northwest, a day after officials reported busloads of pupils were abducted by Taliban militants.

The Pakistani military said on Tuesday that 80 kidnapped students and staff had been rescued in the northwest, a day after officials reported busloads of pupils were abducted by Taliban militants.

"Eighty kidnapped children and staff members recovered in army action near Garyum, 20 kilometres east of Razmak early this morning," the military said in a statement which provided no immediate further details.
