world Updated: Mar 26, 2011 11:58 IST

Pakistan has welcomed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's invitation to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to watch the cricket World Cup semi final in Mohali on March 30.

Pakistan government will decide on the matter on Saturday. "We welcome the invitation," Presidential spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said.

Babar said that PM Gilani is out of the country and decision will be taken once he is back from Tashkent tour.

According to official sources the invitation would also be discussed by the Foreign Office.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday invited Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani to watch the India-Pakistan World Cup semifinal in Mohali on March 30.

The match will come a day after the home secretary-level talks between the two countries on March 28 and 29. Pakistan has never been able to defeat India in a World Cup match.
