Malaysian police are investigating a man with 14 children in connection with the death of one daughter and the alleged sexual abuse of others, an officer said on Tuesday. The man, who works odd jobs and is in his 40s, was arrested last week after one daughter told acquaintances she and her two siblings had been molested by their father, said Azam Abdul Hamid, a district police chief in northern Penang state.
The man is also under investigation in the alleged beating death in 2006 of another daughter, who was about 3 years old then, Azam said. He said the man's 17-year-old son led police to a field where her skeletal remains were found.
The son and the man's two wives are also in police custody to help with investigations, Azam said. He said that several of the children, including the dead girl, were not registered and so didn't go to school.
