Highlight Story

R&B superstar Rihanna has a penchant for tattoos but the fondness for body art has landed the star in trouble after she was caught tattooing people, breaking the law which only permits licensed artists to do so.

The 'Umbrella' hitmaker was caught inking three of the artists at her favourite tattoo parlour in New York with umbrella designs and the letter R.

She now faces a fine of USD 2,000 because one needs a license to hold a needle in New York, making the singer's act an illegal offence, reported Contact Music.

The tattoo shop could also face considerable fines of its own if the city's Law Department decides to open an investigation.

"Only licensed tattoo artists can administer tattoos in the city according to the City's Health Code. We are sending someone down to follow up on this," an official of the New York City Health Department said.
