French President Nicolas Sarkozy says emerging economies including China and India will play bigger role at the next Group of Eight meeting.
Sarkozy says, the leaders of China India, Brazil, South Africa and Mexico will join G8 leaders for a full day at next year's summit in Italy.
This year, leaders of emerging countries are spending only half a day with the leaders of the G8, the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Japan and Canada.
Sarkozy said, today tha leaders "exchanged a great deal on the subject." Italy proposed including the emerging countries for a full day next year, and he said, everyone accepted the pitch.
The French president has often spoken out in favor of including major emerging economies in the group.
