The Russian embassy in the Belarusian capital of Minsk was attacked with fire bombs by unidentified attackers on late Monday but there were no casualties, an official said today.

"At around 10.50 pm (1950 GMT), two fire bombs were thrown into the territory of the Russian embassy," a spokesman said. "One of them hit a car parked on the premises."

There were no casualties and the bombs did not start a fire, he said.
Police are yet to establish the identity of the attackers. The embassy did not comment on the incident.
