A Saudi national was beheaded by the sword on Thursday after he was found guilty of murdering an Indian.
The Saudi, Fatin bin Fallaj al-Shibani al-Otaybi was found guilty of stabbing an Indian to death and stealing his belongings, according to the statement of the Interior Ministry carried by the state news agency.
This was country's 78th execution this year. No other details about the victim nor the executed were made available. Last week, two Saudi men were beheaded after they were convicted of murdering two compatriots.
Musaed bin Attiyah Al Ruwaili was executed in the northern town of Ar'ar after he was found guilty of 'detaining, beating and electrocuting Ahmad bin Obaid Al Anzi until he passed away'.
On the other hand , Badr bin Hmoud Al Khumaisi was executed in Jeddah region after he was found guilty of fatally shooting Shayem bin Saleh Al Rashidi following a dispute, the ministry had then announced.
Besides murder, rape, apostasy, armed robbery and drug trafficking can lead to death penalty in Saudi Arabia. Last year, a total of 153 people were executed in the country compared to 37 in 2006.
