Reports of several blasts in the Wagah sector of the Indo-Pak border sparked panic in villages on the Pakistani side on Friday night.
Local residents said they heard at least three explosions on the Indian side. However, It could not be immediately ascertained what had caused the blasts.
Pakistan Rangers officials said they were trying to contact their Indian counterparts to ascertain the cause of the explosions.
Pakistan Rangers spokesman Nadeem Raza told PTI that three powerful explosions had been heard on the Indian side opposite the Pakistani village of Idial.
"A meeting would be held shortly between officials of Pakistan Rangers and the BSF to discuss the situation," Raza said.
AS the news spread about the explosions, panic gripped the villagers of Pakistani side.
