The best-known Indian 'bahu' in Pakistan, Sania Mirza, can't thank her stars enough for finding her "dream prince" in cricketer Shoaib Malik.
Nine months into her marriage, India's tennis sensation, who broke many a heart when she decided to marry Shoaib, considers herself the "luckiest girl on earth". Sania can't stop raving about Shoaib.
"The simplicity of Shoaib had impressed me a lot. Today he is the same person as he was before marrying me," Sania told 'The News' shortly after winning her first tennis match in Dubai. Shoaib was present to cheer her on, she said. "In practical life I have got my prince of dreams," Sania said. "I have married a great person who is also a great cricketer and it had also brought two countries closer.
It is in fact a marriage of two civilizations." Sania said she was happy with life and it has been smooth sailing for the couple. She said they were both professionals who understood each other's requirements and that "God Almighty had made us an ideal couple". She insisted that she would retain her Indian nationality. "I have been playing and have no plans to retire from tennis.
I wish to grab a gold for India in the London Olympics," she said. Sania admitted that priorities change after marriage but the secret to a successful marriage lie in mutual understanding and confidence.
Sania also requested Shoaib's fans to pray for his return to the Pakistan cricket team, adding that she was aware of her husband's many female fans and that she wasn't jealous as he was her husband!
