A South Korean citizen is being tested for possible swine flu after traveling to Mexico, authorities said Tuesday.
The 51-year-old woman is among three people reported to have swine flu symptoms after trips to Mexico, and the two others have tested negative, said Jun Byong-yul, an official at the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The woman is being quarantined at her home in Gyeonggi Province near Seoul and was administered with antiviral drugs, the official said.
She returned home from a trip to Mexico via Los Angeles on Sunday, he said.
Results of the testing were expected to come as early as Wednesday, Jun said.
If results are positive, the office plans to send the samples to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for final confirmation, he said.
