Rescuers in Panama searched for survivors on Monday after a small plane carrying three Americans and their Panamanian pilot went missing in foul weather.

The Cessna airplane disappeared from radar on Sunday during a 45 minute flight between Islas Secas, in the Gulf of Chiriqui, and Volcan, a mountainous coffee-growing region, the government said.

US businessman Michael Klein and his children, aged 9 and 11 years old, were on the plane, along with their pilot, the government said.
Poor weather, including fog, has forced rescue workers to intermittently suspend their search for the missing plane, the government said.
