Five people, including four police officers, were killed on Sunday in a suicide bomb attack in the Chechen capital of Grozny, the interior ministry said.
The blast took place near a concert hall at 13:00 GMT in Grozny.
The attacker detonated the bomb near the police officers at a public square. An official said nine people were also injured in the attack.
Chechnya's President Ramzan Kadyrov condemned the attack and pledged to eliminate the terrorists in the Russian North Caucasus republic.
"I declare that the operation will continue until all of these bandits are completely annihilated. We have sufficient forces and means for this, and also the support of the federal centre," the president said.
