A suicide bomber blew up a truck packed with explosives outside a police station in northwest Pakistan on Saturday, killing four people and wounding 30 others, police said.
The attack took place in the Mandan area on the outskirts of Bannu town. "A suicide bomber blew up his mini-truck, which was laden with explosives, killing four people and wounding 30 others," district police officer Iqbal Marwat told AFP.
The dead included two policemen, a detainee who had been held in the station's jail and two civilians, he said. Another police official, Ishtiaq Ahmad, confirmed initially that two people died, but warned that the death toll might rise further because casualties were still trapped under the rubble of the collapsed police station.
