Dear Editor,

India now has its own identity in the world map because it is a nuclear power. Gone are the days when India was known as the country of Sadhus, Serpents and Slums. It is now recognized as the largest democracy, respected as a fast developing country having fastest growing economy and enviously perceived to be the world’s fourth largest economy within next 20 years or so. The developed countries including the United States want to forge a relationship with India for mutual benefits. So it is immaterial as to who will be entering White House in January 2009, Barack Obama or John McCain. Both Democrats and Republican parties including the current presidential nominees have repeatedly acclaimed that India is an important world entity and the symbiotic relationship with it will always improve.
