Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria on Thursday gave birth to a baby girl at a hospital in Stockholm.
Princess Victoria gave birth to a daughter at 4.26am on Thursday at Karolinska Hospital, the royal court said in a statement. Both mother and child are in good health.
Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt congratulated the crown princess and her husband Prince Daniel, reports Xinhua.
"It's a great day for the entire royal family and it is also a great day for Sweden," said Reinfeldt in a government statement.
He added that with the birth of a new princess, the Kingdom of Sweden will enter a new era of queens.
This is the first child of Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling since they got married in June 2010 in a grand wedding ceremony in Stockholm.
