The accident occurred yesterday in Shanxi province as the bus with 54 passengers on board wounded along a mountainous highway near the city of Yangquan, official Xinhua news agency reported.

Ten passengers died on the spot, while three others succumbed to their injuries on the way to hospital.

Forty-one people were being treated for injuries sustained in the crash, with three in critical condition and six others in serious condition; Xinhua said quoting the Yangquan city government.
