Three people have been killed and three wounded when their plane crashed near southern Chile's Lago Ranco city, Spain's EFE news agency reported Friday.
The accident took place Thursday in Riquinahue, some 750 km from here.
The aircraft was carrying six people, including three children. The exact cause of the accident was not immediately known, the police said.
The small aircraft was heading from Lago Ranco to the resort city of Pucon, in the La Araucania region, some 100 km north of Santiago.
A witness told the Radio Cooperativa that the plane crashed in a field some 200 metres from some residential quarters. Ivan Quichel said the aircraft did not catch fire but was completely destroyed.
The injured were admitted in a hospital in Lago Ranco.
On Wednesday a plane belonging to the police department crashed in a densely populated area in Santiago, killing 11 people.
