Russian security forces have killed three terrorists, including two woman would be suicide bombers, holed up inside a house in the restive republic of Dagestan.
"One of the militants was identified as Mekhtibek Bashirov, the head of the so called Derbent district terrorist group in Dagestan while both women were on the federal wanted list as they had been trained by militants as suicide bombers," RIA Novosti reported.
They were killed in a security sweep in Russia's volatile North Caucasus republic of Daghestan, some 120 km south of the capital Makhachkala, according to National Anti-Terrorist Committee.
Another woman was wounded and detained by the police.
A large arsenal of weaponry was found in the house where the militants had been hiding.
In a recent televised meeting with Alexander Bortnikov, the Director of Federal Security Service (FSB), President Dmitry Medvedev had asked him to pay special attention to Daghestan which has the highest rate of terrorist activities among the Caucasian regions and urged him also to seek closer cooperation with the local Islamic leaders.
